This information is provided by the candidate

President, Manor PTA 2009-2011

Each school throughout the District has a Parent Club or PTA which coordinates school community participation, fundraising, and teacher support for that site. As President, I got a chance to know and work with our awesome parents, teachers, and staff ... and learn a bit about what is important to us all.

Member, RVSD Round Table 2008+current

This is a group comprised of Parent Leaders and Principals from each school site, the (co)Chair of YES, and the Superintendent. Roundtable is responsible for determining the parameters of parent participation within the District and ensuring that there is equity among the schools. It has been a great way to keep my finger on the pulse of who is doing what and how things work in our schools and district.

Community Outreach and Endorsements, Measure A Campaign 2010

Last year, Ross Valley resoundingly passed Measure A, a Bond designed to fund much-needed facilities expansions and improvements to schools throughout the District. Our entire community, especially our kids, will benefit for years from this effort +and I was proud to be part of the team of people who worked to get it done.

Board Member (Poetry/Assemblies/Libraries), YES Foundation 2010 + current

YES is Ross Valley's privately funded Arts Foundation and is directly responsible for much of the Art, Music, Foreign Language, and "extra" programming and instruction that happens in our District schools. With State and Federal funding for education being reduced every year, it is becoming more and more important that alternative revenue sources are found, and that these revenues are used efficiently. YES-raised monies are a critical part of the RVSD annual budget.

Secretary/Snack Shack Coordinator, West Marin Little League 2010+current

By reorganizing the Snack Shack cash handling, ordering, and volunteer participation procedures, WMLL was able to more than triple its annual concessions profit, which means more money for scholarships and program improvements ... and more baseball!

After School Care Teacher, Marin YMCA (at Manor School) 2007-2009

This was how I got hooked. After spending my afternoons hanging out with kids for a couple years, it became very obvious to me that what they learn when they're little is what they will live when they are big.

Education, Training and Professional Experience

Bachelor of Fine Arts Music-Theater, Carnegie-Mellon University

My first career was in Theater. I have performed in, designed, directed, and/or written over fifty shows. I have taught Acting and Dance to kids from Kindergarten through University level.

Owner, Fine Line Communications, Eindhoven, Netherlands

When I moved to Holland in 1996, I started a small communications company to provide Native-English corporate communications materials and translations for companies operating in the Netherlands, including Philips, Mercedes, JWT Amsterdam, and First Dutch Capital.
