ROSEMARY YBARRA FICKAS Occupation: Parent / Financial Clerk

Rosemary Ybarra Fickas has been a lifelong resident of Salinas.

Rosemary Ybarra Fickas attended Sherwood Elementary School, Alisal Elementary, El Sausal Middle School and graduated from Salinas Union High School. Rosemary was born in Glendale, Arizona and moved to Salinas in 1949 with her parents and sisters where they lived on Del Monte Ave in East Salinas.

After high school Rosemary attended Hartnell Community College for a few years but then got married to her late husband Paul Sr. and raised two sons (John and Paul Jr.). During these years Rosemary worked hard raising two sons and also working for the City of Salinas and then the Salinas Union High School District as a classified employee and strong union member for many years, and most recently working for Mann Packing.

Goals:

Ensure affordable fees to local residents, Bring back vocational and agriculture courses, Provide more night, on-line and off campus courses to parents and working students.

Rosemary has now been living in North Salinas for the past 20 years. Please vote on November 8, 2011 for Rosemary Ybarra Fickas + a New Leader + New Ideas + Experience we need for Hartnell.
