Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Hawthorne

I am an Attorney, Mediator, Arbitrator, Consultant; and Educator. I have been an Attorney since 1976. I was an Attorney for the Federal Aviation Administration from 1988-2007 (FAA), representing the FAA in Aviation cases and in those involving Employment Discrimination. I am now self-employed as an Attorney and as an Arbitrator and Mediator.

As a Mediator and Arbitrator I am well-qualified to negotiate and mediate disputes. From September 2008 to present I have served as a Hearing Examiner for the Los Angeles Department of Transportation. In 2008, I was certified on the panel of Mediators for the United States Postal Service.

I have a long history of community participation in government. I served as a City of Hawthorne Planning Commissioner from 2007- 2009, and President of the Holly Park Homeowner's Association, from 2006- and 2010-2011. I was appointed as Hawthorne's representative to the LAX Airport Advisory Committee in 2010. I am an advocate of Mass transportation and I have served on the board of directors of The Transit Coalition and theTransportation Committee of the Sierra Club. I was a founder of the FAA's Adopt-a-School Program, in which we enriched the educational experience of students through exposure to aviation and through a tutoring program.
