High student-interest programs must be retained

By Nancy D. Goldberg

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Culver City Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Modern students need to find an attraction in school. If Culver City continues to support and expand such programs as language immersion, the high school advanced placement program and athletics, our educational progress will continue.
For students in their final four years of public education, the issue is often how to continue to stimulate their interest. As their maturity opens new avenues of expression to them, students need dependable programs that challenge their emerging opinions and decision-making skills. Culver City needs to continue those successful programs that have launched so many of its graduates. Fiscal limitations cannot be permitted to eliminate those programs for which our maturing students are motivated to attend school.
