Skyy is a native of Compton. He was born, reared and educated in Compton schools. HE IS A PRODUCT OF THE COMPTON. As a 2nd generation resident of Compton, Skyy comes from a family rich in education and community service. He is the oldest son of Compton College Foster Care Administrator Pamela Hembrick-Godfrey and nephew of Compton School Administrator Joseph Hembrick (Coach Hembrick). Skyy has two older sisters, April, Daniellie and one younger brother Kelton.

Skyy has represented students, education professionals and union members and their respective families in neighborhoods stretching from Compton to North Carson, including communities of East Rancho Dominguez, Enterprise, Mona Park, Rosewood, Stevenson Village, West Rancho Dominguez, Willowbrook and throughout the United States.

A champion for educational equality and organized labor, Skyy has earned a reputation as a passionate advocate who engages intricate issues on behalf of students, union members and their families.

Skyy began his community service as an early teen, volunteering with the Foster and Kinship Care Education Program at Compton College. Skyy continues to serve as a volunteer youth mentor.

Skyy has held many memberships and elected/appointed positions during his distinguished career:

Skyy's career began in the City of Compton and later translated into an expanding career within the United States. Skyy currently serves as a staff member for a national labor union representing more than 1.5 million pre-K through 12th-grade teachers; paraprofessionals and other school-related personnel; higher education faculty and professional staff; federal, state and local government employees. Skyy efficiently advocates for the rights of union members and quality education for students throughout the United States.

His former work experience includes:

Skyy is a proud product of the Compton educational system Fisher has matriculated through Lynwood High School, Compton Community College and California State University, Dominguez Hills.
