About Me...

By Kristina Radelfinger

Candidate for Board Member; Ferndale Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Candidate Information:

Age: 37

Occupation: Mother, Dairywoman, Veterinarian

Family: husband, Shane; son, Kyler, 8 yrs old, 3rd grade (FES); daughter, Sienna, 5 years old, Kindergarten (FES)

My main interest currently is raising and educating my two children: Kyler and Sienna. When they attended the Ferndale Children's Center preschool, I served on the Board of Directors. Our Board successfully dealt with several difficult personnel and financial issues. I believe because of these experiences, I would be a valuable addition to the Ferndale Unified School Board. I grew up in Humboldt County. I attended University of Oregon for undergraduate studies, UCDavis for Veterinary School, and Colorado State University for an internship in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery. I moved to Ferndale to work as a veterinarian at Ferndale Veterinary. After I married my husband, Shane Radelfinger, we moved to Tillamook, Oregon and started our dairy. Six years ago we purchased a dairy here in Ferndale, which allowed us to move back near our family and friends. Shane and I are partners in our dairy; I do the vet work, paperwork and finances. I feel my Ferndale Children Center Board service, my experience with budgeting and finances, and my interest and dedication to the Ferndale School System make me an excellent candidate for the Ferndale Unified School District's School Board.
