Public Service is important to me. I want to use my background and expertise to be of value to the community. I also want to increase communication between teachers, parents, administration and the Board of TrusteesPubic service has always been viewed in my family for generations as a duty and a privilege. My father and mother both proudly served in the U.S. Navy, my father as a Lt. Cmdr. and my mother as a Navy nurse. At this time in my life as a retired teacher, retired administrator, and retired deputy district attorney, I have the time to give back to the students, teachers, parents, and administration in McKinleyville providing leadership and citizen oversight to the school district. My goal, as a trustee, if elected, is to ensure that the school district is responsive to the values, beliefts, and the priorities of the community of McKinleyville. I would like to provide better communication between teachers, staff, parents, administration, and students in order to successfully fulfill that goal. I a ready,, willing, and able to serve on the McKinleyville Union School District Board of Trustees just for the privilege of serving my community. |
