EID rates, spending and debt are out of control!

By Alan Day

Candidate for El Dorado Irrigation District; Division 5

This information is provided by the candidate
Our bills will just keep going higher and higher!
The current EID Board has been busy over the last 8 years:

  • Huge excess water and sewer capacity, over 50%, built for FUTURE residents, that we are paying for now

  • Debt has been TRIPLED to almost $400 million in the past 8 years. With over 1/3 over every dollar we pay going just to service that debt.

  • El Dorado Hills sewer bills average 50%+ HIGHER than neighboring communities

  • EID water rates have nearly DOUBLED over the last 8 years

  • With talk of MORE big spending, MORE red ink, MORE deficit budgets and higher bills on the way. Hitting residents, businesses and home owners associations in our community hard.

  • The current El Dorado Irrigation District Board of Directors has been on a spending, debt and rate increasing spree over the last 8 years, voting 5-0 in lockstep much of the time, and they seem content with continuing business as usual.

Something is wrong with that ...
