On February 24, 2011 I received the rating of "Highly Recommended" from the Allegheny County Bar Association which is the highest rating bestowed upon judicial candidates. I was deeply gratified in earning this recommendation after responding to the Bar Association's written questions, providing a writing sample and undergoing their interview process. The Bar Association's definition of "Highly Recommended" is:

1. Exhibits preeminence in the law by way of outstanding legal ability and a wide range of experience, either in a specialized field of law or a more varied practice, and has a reputation in the legal community as standing at the top of his/her profession.

2. Possesses the highest reputation for integrity and temperament.

3. Exhibits outstanding citizenship by way of community and professional contributions.

4. Is an exceptional individual who will enhance or has enhanced the competence, dignity, and public perception of the bench.

The endorsement from FOP Lodge #1 representing Pittsburgh Police Officers was very welcomed considering many of its members urged me to run for judge of the Court of Common Pleas. I believe I earned their respect over the years by not only vigorously prosecuting their cases but also advising them honestly regarding the strengths and weaknesses of their investigations. They could always trust that I would provide an honest answer to their questions.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Easter Sunday endorsement and recognition that I am a "top tier" judicial candidate comports with the Allegheny County Bar Association's rating. The newspaper went on to reference my 23 years experience as a prosecutor as another reason for their endorsement.
