As you may know, in January, I was elected by my colleagues to serve in a new leadership role - President of the Board of Commissioners.

In giving me their confidence, my colleagues cited my background and experience, and my ability to work effectively with them and the general public to achieve positive outcomes. I am very proud to be the first Democratic woman in our township's150-year history to serve in this important position.

As Board President, it is my job to set the Board's agenda and make sure the township runs cost efficiently and effectively; it is my ultimate goal and priority to maintain the character and qualities of the township we treasure while maintaining our long-standing tradition of award winning financial management and fiscal discipline.

Lower Merion didn't get to be a great place to live by accident, and it will take focus, perseverance and a lot of hard work to make sure it stays a wonderful place for years and decades to come. One of the keys to doing so is for the Township's residents to continue to be engaged in township affairs and help us make the right decisions and map our course going forward.
