Lisa Mossie Biography
The position of Township Supervisor is one of stewardship, in guiding the Township into the future while carefully preserving what is best about its heritage. I believe that the most important role for a township supervisor is to manage the growth of the township in a fiscally responsible manner.

My concept of responsible growth is threefold:

1. All growth should be managed with an eye toward improving, or at the very least maintaining the quality of life for the residents.

2. Revenue generation should never be the only consideration in a plan, nor should any developer come to expect a rubber stamp approval from our township.

3. I believe that the township should be self-sustaining. I think it is irresponsible to rely on state or federal funds or developers to fund ongoing programs in the township; these funds are finite and will run out eventually.

I am a small government, fiscal conservative, originally from King of Prussia who grew up in a law enforcement family. I graduated from Upper Merion High School and I have attended both Montgomery County Community College and Villanova University. I have lived in Oaks for 15 years and raised three daughters here. My husband Gene has lived in Oaks all of his life and has deep family roots in the community.

For the last eleven years, I have been employed by the Bryn Mawr Trust Company. I review development plans and appraisals for commercial properties. I also monitor existing loans to make sure that they continue to be sound investments for my employer. Currently, I manage the largest and most highly visible portfolio of commercial loans in my Bank.

I became active in politics following the 2000 general election, because I felt the resulting chaos of the recounting of the votes for George Bush posed a significant threat to democracy. I believe that having faith in a fair election process is the very foundation upon which our system of government is based, so I became involved in the political process by working the polls at Oaks beginning in 2001. I have worked every election since, first as a machine operator and for the last year and a half, as the Judge of Elections.

I have spent much of the last five years arguing for the ideals of fiscal conservatism and small government in the public forum, whether as a contributing columnist to the Times Herald and the Pottstown Mercury, as a guest on local cable news programs, on my blogs, or most recently, as a co-host of local talk radio program on WFYL 1180 AM.

Because of my background in local media, my views are a known quantity. While I am a strong advocate for my point of view, I am also open-minded, because I do not believe I have all of the answers. I can evaluate issues objectively, and without the baggage of an entrenched official, it will be easier for me to find common ground with my fellow Township board members and restore trust in our local government.

With your support on Tuesday, May 17th, I will apply my beliefs in conservatism and limited government, along with my real world experience in politics and finance, to help make our township of Upper Providence a place we can all be glad to call home.

My core beliefs in fiscal conservatism and limited government coupled with my real world experience in politics and finance make me the best choice for Upper Providence Township Supervisor in 2011.
