Why I am Seeking Re-election

By Michael Stelmasczyk

Candidate for Council Member; Borough of Baldwin; Democratic Party

Accomplishments as a member of Baldwin Borough Council and as Council President
This current Council has tackled some very difficult issues and I would like to be re-elected to continue my work for the community. I believe I have been part of a team having significant accomplishments such as, improvement in the conditions and public safety at the Leland Point Apartment complex and surrounding neighborhoods and improvement in the solvency of our pension plans. We also provided for a significant increase in funding to maintain our roads. All of this was accomplished with NO increase in property taxes. In addition to tackling new issues as they come up, I would like to see us become more proactive. I will push for a long-range plan for this Borough along with a revenue improvement plan. We need to continue to cut costs but we also have to find ways to enhance our revenue stream so that we can continue to provide excellent service to our residents. Above all, we must have improved communication with the media and especially our residents so they understand the reasons for Council's actions.
