We believe there is a way to end the impasse that currently exists between the Left and the Right. We believe there is room for a grand compromise in American politics from which there can spring a powerful political movement backed by a broad consensus.

Furthermore, we believe it is staring us right in the face. We call it: Small Government Liberalism.

Simply put, Small Government Liberalism proposes to limit the size of the federal government while ensuring it is active, energetic and competent within those set parameters.

You might also call it "Liberalism on a Leash."

We've tried Big Government Liberalism. It failed. We've tried Big Government Conservatism. It failed.

And, whatever its intellectual merits, there is no political consensus for Small Government Conservatism.

But there is a broad consensus for Small Government Liberalism.
