YES on a balanced budget.
I am concerned about our future revenue for San Mateo County. That is why it's critical that the current budget be funded. Not having a balanced budget is adding a substantial debt to the taxpayers. A balanced budget would ensure that all programs being funded by San Mateo County are prioritized by importance and benefit to the county.

YES on pension reform.

Negotiations and concessions should take place immediately.

YES on consolidation of fire services on a county-wide basis.

The consolidation of San Mateo County's fire services would lead to a safe and efficient system .

YES on Redwood City's Downtown Precise Plan development project.

This plan would build homes close to Redwood City's transportation corridor. The homes would be built on existing land. The location would allow more people to use already established public transportation, such as Caltrain and SamTrans.

NO on High Speed Rail in San Mateo County.

The proposed plan for a high speed rail through San Mateo County is not cost efficient or rider-friendly. I would rather see a permanent funding source for our already established Caltrain and SamTrans systems.

NO on Cargill's "Salt Flats" project.

I am opposed to building on the Bay. The homes and construction would clutter San Mateo County's roads with roughly 24,000 more cars.
