Position Papers
Create jobs in California
We need to alter the status quo by: repealing regulations that penalize businesses and inspire them to leave; impose a moratorium on new regulations; institute a flat income tax or significantly revise the current progressive tax; freeze the minimum wage; greatly reduce the costs imposed by the state for doing business; provide more energy options for businesses in order to decrease their operational costs; and improve our schools.
Cut California state government spending
State spending is out of control and must be dramatically altered if we are to restore our position as the greatest state in the nation. Fiscal responsibility will allow us to gain control of unsustainable expenditures for pensions and will help create a more favorable business climate necessary for job creation.
Improve California schools
When we score 44th to 46th in the U.S. in 4th and 8th grade reading & math test scores, we encourage citizens to relocate to states with better schools when given the opportunity to work elsewhere. Moreover, we discourage prospective small-business owners from relocating to California. Most importantly, we fail our students by not adequately preparing them for academic success and life.
