A Woman For Change

By Estela Mota

Candidate for Council Member; City of Bell; 4 Year Term

This information is provided by the candidate
For 41 years I've been a Bell resident and homeowner. I raised my children in this city and became and active parent and citizen in the community. I was a PTA member at Corona elementary, Nimitz Middle School and Bell High. Even after my children became adults, I continued my involvement in the community as president of the League of United Latin American Citizens (Bell/Cudahy Council 2871) and managed the Willie C. Velasquez Center, a non-profit organization assisting underrepresented communities. During my years in Bell I've seen our city`s condition decline. Our necessities have grown and unfortunately our current city officials have only abused our community and depleted our city's financial resources which in turn have plummeted us into a problematic downward spiral.

Upon entering city council I will push for positive change. I will immediately strive to resolve the current public safety system issues we currently face. I will insist on creating much needed youth and senior activities and help home owners /mobile home owners, residents and business owners resolve all the injustices that our current city officials have brought upon us. I will also work on putting an end to the ghost town that our city's business streets are becoming and awaken a modernized and prosperous city by helping our existing businesses succeed and also bringing in major business and entertainment industry names to make our city their home, which in turn would create employment opportunities for our residents and revenue for our city. I am determined to better our city.

For these reasons I am asking you to vote for me, Estela Mota, for city council. Together we can create a new and improved city with a respectable and trustworthy council. Together we can show the nation that we have grown into a stronger and more involved community. Together we can make this a city we're all proud of. Together we can make our Bell resonate. It's time for change.
