Elected Experience

As a Democrat running in a heavily Republican township, I was elected to Township Supervisor in 2007 where I won an upset victory by 7 votes. I was appointed as Chair of the Board of Supervisors in 2010.

I ran on a campaign to put residents first. As a supervisor, I resurrected the township newsletter, conducted town hall meetings and have been a strong advocate for residents at board meetings.

Despite difficult economic times, I have approved 2 budgets on time with no remaining deficits. I also championed a resolution to designate East Whiteland as a Sierra Club Cool City to demonstrate the township's commitment to reducing its energy usage and its greenhouse gas emissions.

State Representative Campaign Platform

The theme of my campaign platform is restoring trust in our state government. We need to put reform measures in place to ensure the following:

  • State budgets are approved on time without deficits.
  • Elections are conducted fairly.
  • Legislators have incentives for creating and maintaining quality jobs for all Pennsylvanians.

As a long-time environmentalist, I believe we need to promote programs to increase the usage of alternative energy sources and improve energy efficiency.

To ensure budgets are properly funded, I support proposals to both eliminate certain sales tax exemptions and close corporate tax loopholes.
