Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Mike Judge

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Simi Valley

This information is provided by the candidate

I am a candidate for the privilege to serve on our City Council. In my opinion there are three major issues facing our community this election let me address the one I think is the most important. Public Safety as you may or may not know Simi Valley has not been on top of the safest big city list for some time now. You have probably noticed driving around town the rise in the incidents of graffiti or tagging staining our community, this is the tip of the iceberg underneath lying just below the surface is a growing gang problem. We need a highly trained and well motivated Police Force to combat this problem while it is still controllable. Our Police department takes up a major portion of our City budget this is no secret I propose that it should take up more not less this is the wrong place to look for a bargain. There is no other greater Duty of the Government than to ensure the safety of its Citizens. Unfair cuts in Officers pay that exceeded the cuts asked for from other City unions is not the way to attract new professionals to our city. I want to put Simi Valley back on top of that Safest Big City list, working with not against our Police Department and encouraging strong community involvement. With your help we can do it. I am running for a council seat with one goal, to make Simi Valley BETTER for my family and yours for your business not mine. I do not own a business that would benefit from my candidacy I am not looking for employment for any employer in Simi Valley I don't work for a City Vendor. I will not have to recuse myself from any vote taken on the City Council for conflict of interest. The average tenure on the City Council is 11.5 years that's not taking the Mayors service into account; in those years we have slipped further down the safest cities list not up.
