Lets Put Your Tax Dollars Back into the Classrooms for Our Children

By Josie Hirsch

Candidate for Board Member; Simi Valley Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Isn't it time that we demand accountability and better results for all the money we have put into our schools and the Labor Unions pockets! Over half of all California tax dollars go to education spending, yet we are ranked near the bottom in nationwide rankings. Why are our students not the best in the country? Our administrators and teachers are some of the highest paid in the country, though they are always crying for more money. Isn't it time for the truth?
Hi, I am Josie and I am running for SVUSD School Board. I am a mom, and I know the citizens of Simi Valley deserve more for their money. Did you know the Labor Unions are in full control of our schools? Give power back to our community. Cut Unions....... cut Bureaucracy. They are sucking money away from our classrooms and students. The current 'leaders' of our schools are bleeding money from our kids.

Return the power to the PEOPLE! Stop expanding the government. Kids are more important. When is the last time the Unions cut their benefits? Not in the last 30 years. They have retirement and full benefits, including pensions! Throw the incumbents who have let this happen over the fence and get the bullies off the playground! Put common sense back in our schools. Isn't it strange that most school boards are controlled by Labor Unions? Is the Union's priority the students or the Union? Where is the accountability? Shouldn't teachers and administrators continuing employment be based on merit? Instead it is based on tenure.

Public education needs to change! How we deliver education in public schools doesn't work! They graduate kids who do not know what 12 x 12 equals.

Why am I running? I believe the government is broken. The people in charge (administrators, school board, and Labor Unions) are more interested in the money in their pockets then the education of our children, our Future. It is time to remove the incumbents and unions from our schools.

The Labor Unions, the Simi Education Assoc. and the California Teachers Assoc, have been destructive in educating our students. They have proven that they are more concerned about money then our kids. Now is the time for the parents and community to be back in charge!

I have a financial background and know budget planning. I am concerned Simi Valley schools are not getting money out of the Union led School District! Do you keep hearing there are no supplies? Ask the Unions to publish the Union Representatives and Administrators salaries. Where is the transparency?

The students of Simi Valley USD are not getting a fair shake from the Union run district.

Run away from the Unions and vote for me, Josie Hirsch, a MOM who wants to put the citizens of Simi Valley back in charge.

Teacher friends of mine right here in Simi had me remove their names from my endorsers list. They are intimidated by the Union and cannot publicly support someone they feel good about. Is this the group we want running our schools? The Unions intimidation of teachers must stop. Intimidation is stuff teachers and citizens are fed up with. Incumbents and Labor Unions must be stopped.

I am not here to compromise with the unions or bureaucracy. I have integrity and will NEVER compromise as the incumbents have.

The citizens of Simi Valley are hurting. Unemployment rates are high, businesses are closing or leaving town. But we have a new auditorium at Santa Susana High that does not have the money to be completed. This was funded by bonds on the backs of our citizens. Citizens who can't afford to have taxes raised for projects like this. Not right now. Give the money back to the citizens.

I will be the George Washington of Simi Valley for our schools. I will stand up for what is right. I will not compromise.

I am not a bureaucrat, not a politician. I am a mom and a citizen of Simi Valley and I am sick of paying taxes so the 'leaders' get a free ride and a pension.
