Campaign Statement for Dr. Debbie (Deborah) De Vries

Deborah De Vries has been a teacher/educator for the last 38 years. I am deeply committed to the youth of our community, and I am willing and able to continue to dedicate my time, professional energy and ability toward serving our community through participation on the Oxnard School District's Governing Board.

My experience and education prepare me to be positive, and professional in decision making. I am a thoughtful and open- minded individual.

My background education: UCLA, BA History and, English and USC, M.S. Ed.; Ed.D, in Curriculum and Administration.

PHILOSOPHY: Students are our community's most precious resource. We must act to do our very best to meet students where they are academically and socially. And then we must help them discover their dreams. With leadership and compassion, we can and will improve the future for all in our community.

COMMITMENT: I am deeply committed to building a positive environment for our school district and to bring out our students' talents and abilities. I commit to whole-heartedly dedicating my time, expertise and energy to this important community service.
