Questions & Answers

1. In this time of high unemployment, what are the most important steps that should be taken to improve our nation’s economy?

The government needs to cut taxes and regulations on small businesses so that they are free to produce, prosper & hire employees.

2. How should federal budget priorities be changed, now and into the future? How will you balance the costs of military action overseas and national security with the costs of domestic needs?

The number one priority of any budget should be that it is balanced, and I support a balanced budget amendment, where the budget must be balanced every year unless we are in time of war or national crisis to be determined by Congress.

The federal government has grown way beyond the limits of our Constitution and as such, many departments need to be downsized if not, disappear all together. I believe the legislative powers of Congress are limited by Article I, section 8. In other words, taxpayer money should only be used to maintain order and provide for our defense.

Lastly, our military presence abroad is a catalyst for much of the terrorism we have seen directed towards Americans. To protect America, we must bring our troops home, and cease meddling in the affairs of other countries.

3. What, if anything, should be done by the federal government to address our dependence on fossil fuels or spur the use of clean energy?

Nothing. When it becomes more cost effective to produce a different form of energy, that is when we will make the switch. Any money spent by the government in this venture is not only arguably unconstitutional but futile and a colossal waste of taxpayer money.

4. What, if any, changes should be made to current federal policies or programs that promote or provide health coverage for Americans.

It is precisely government's involvement in the health care industry that is directly responsible for its sky rocketing costs, and it will only continue to rise under the recently passed legislation. We must deregulate the insurance industries and minimize government involvement.

5. What, if any, changes should be made to federal rules on campaign financing or disclosure of political expenditures?

I do not support limits on campaign financing as that is akin to free speech censorship. Money, after all, equals speech.
