Jobs for America's People

By Dave Chapman

Candidate for United States Representative; District 14

This information is provided by the candidate
The most important issues in this election are Jobs, Jobs, and Jobs. Specifically:

We need to crack down hard on immigration fraud. Employers who falsely claim that they could not find qualified American workers are criminals and should be put in jail.

We don't have enough good jobs for the people who are already here. "Guest Worker" programs like H1-B need to be eliminated. Importation of slave labor has already cost over 950,000 jobs. These programs are simply not acceptable.

We need to make it clear that Free Trade is not a One-Way Street. The United States cannot and will not tolerate the loss of 5 million jobs due to the trade deficit. Countries who export to America cannot be allowed to refuse to buy our products. Countries who manipulate the value of their currencies should be excluded from the American financial system.

We need to reform the international financial system. There is a fundamental conflict between the US dollar in its role as the global currency and the US dollar in its role as the local currency of the United States. This conflict has produced an artificial demand for international dollars, and is a major factor in the apparently permanent trade deficit which has destroyed so many American jobs. Wide-ranging reform of the international role of the Fed is needed immediately, starting with explicit regulation of those foreign banks which want to continue being members of US financial markets.

All aspects of the financial system, from trade policy to regulation and monetary policy need to be focused on one goal: Creating and protecting good jobs in the United States.
