Rob Bernosky is a family man, patriot, businessman, and very involved in his community.

Rob was born, raised, and schooled in Newark, Delaware, before moving to California in 1986 for his first job (after school) as a general accountant for a semiconductor manufacturing company. He went on to banking as a financial analyst and accountant for 7 years before moving to Hollister to join a start up company as CFO that was a classic Silicon Valley success and was acquired by another company. Rob then went on to co-found South Valley Advisors, a financial advisory firm for start up, emerging, and distressed companies, helping other companies raise capital, manage mergers & acquisitions, and provide management assistance. The financial advisory services engagements often results in taking management roles for client companies, including Rob having been the CFO of several successful turn around situations in the semiconductor, software, recreational, electronics, communications, pharmaceutical, and other industries. The problems businesses face and the hurdles they have to climb to be successful are no stranger to Rob Bernosky.

Rob believes in giving back, including serving the public. In 2003 he was elected to the North County Joint Union School District, which was experiencing declining enrollment, and was in Program Improvement Status, experiencing budget deficits, and poor morale. Rob worked with fellow board members, teachers, administration, the County and State to turn it into now what is one of the best in California. Rob also fought to get the County Committee on School District Organization reestablished in San Benito County, working with the County and California Offices of Education to get that done. Rob is currently a member and president of that official body. Being married to a teacher and marrying into a family with four teachers has given Rob great insight into education and along with his practical business experience, has lent the local educational community a helping hand.

Rob is a board member and President of Rancho San Joaquin Mutual Water Company, serving a community and a school district. When water to his farming property was cut off as a result of the Delta Smelt debacle, Rob expected water officials to help his community get water from other sources. They did not. Rob was able to increase water allocations from RSJMWC to help his community.

Family is most important to Rob. He has been married only once, to his wife Jenny for 21 years. Jenny is principal of Spring Grove School in San Benito County. Jenny & Rob have 3 children, all in public school, including their eldest who will be attending UCLA next year.

Rob is a Boy Scout Leader in the Monterey Council Troop 400, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollister and the San Benito Stage Company, and otherwise together with his wife, involved in all of the many activities their 3 children are.
