I have been involved in the Forestville Union School District since I was four years old. My mother taught at the school for 27 years, I was a student from Kindergarten through the 8th grade, and then I was fortunate enough to return to Sonoma County in 2004. Two of my children graduated from Forestville Academy in 2008 and 2010 and my youngest son is in the first grade in my mother's former classroom. It is this type of history that makes Forestville School so special! I love this school. I worked at the school from 2005 until the spring of 2009. I was a teacher's aid, a leadership teacher, and I ran the school lunch program. In 2009 I became certified to teach self-rescue swimming as an Infant Swimming Resource Instructor to allow myself time to pursue my writing goals. I now have the honor of teaching some of the youngest students at Forestville how to swim! I continue to volunteer at the school, helping with the award winning drama program and teaching electives in the junior high. Through all of these experiences I have gained a vast knowledge of the inner workings of the school. The strong relationships I have developed with students, teachers, staff and administration have deepened my appreciation for the hard work and dedication it takes to make a school effective. I want to now do what I can to help the school thrive as a member of the Board.
