Linda Corwin - Your Representative on the Water Board

By Linda Corwin

Candidate for Board Member; North Coast County Water District

This information is provided by the candidate
I have been a Pacifican for over thirty years and have learned a lot about our water department in the five years that I have been attending NCCWD meetings. My background has prepared me to be able to incorporate your concerns with the needs of the district.
I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. I graduated from Sacramento State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Math Minor. My husband and I moved to San Francisco shortly after we were married in 1971 and have lived in Pacifica for over 30 years. During that time I have worked for a Custom-house Broker at the San Francisco Airport as an Import Supervisor. My duties included working closely with Customs officials and customers to assess and calculate the correct duties to be paid on each type of item invoiced. I volunteered several years for the Sharp Park School PTA as Treasurer, Secretary and fundraiser. I have just retired after working thirteen years for the Pacifica School District as an Instructional Aide. The last five years I have been the Vice President of Citizens Concerned About Chloramine. As a site manager at the Sanchez Adobe Historic Site my duties include inventory control and preparing monthly sales reports. I am a member of the Del Mar Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

These experiences have given me the knowledge that will allow me to be an asset to the North Coast County Water District (NCCWD) and an effective board member. I have a strong grasp of math so that I can keep an eye on the budget. I know how to work with a variety of personalities, from kindergartners to high government officials.

I attended one of the Water Education Training programs provided by the NCCWD and found it immensely interesting.

For the last few years I have attended most of the NCCWD board meetings and some committee meetings. I have also attended a majority of the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA)meetings and am aware of the interaction between, BAWSCA, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), and the NCCWD. As a director, I will bring a fresh way of looking at things to the board, maintain a tight grip on the budget and provide more outreach to the community. As a member of the community, I will provide you with information about the vital job our water district is doing for us.

Please Vote for Linda Corwin - your ideas will be heard.
