Candidate for
Mayor; City of San Luis Obispo

I am a dedicated public servant, volunteer and community member. As Mayor, I will guard the well being of the city, its residents, stakeholders and natural resources. Public safety is among my highest priorities. I believe in strong resident involvement at all stages and adhere to principles of thrift and efficiency in government.

I will be a full time, all-in Mayor, focused entirely on excellent service to the city. I have retired my law practice, so I can devote myself full time to the duties of Mayor.

I have long advocated sustainability, preservation of open space and principles of smart growth. Having owned my own business for years, I know how hard it can be to meet that bottom line and I adhere to principles of thrift in government. I will work hard to help our local economy gain headway and become a leader in green and high tech business.

I've worked hard to support residents priorities, keep the streets safe, conserve our natural and budgetary resources and promote the local economy. I will continue to work my hardest to make sure the residents priorities are preserved through the budget process.

Not only am I the best qualified candidate given my experience and education, but I am also best suited person to serve as Mayor.

I prepare thoroughly and run a well organized meeting. I'm a good listener, patient and have a sense of humor. I don't turn my back on anyone. My style is not authoritarian, but collaborative. Even if we have disagreed in the past on some issue, I welcome your opinion in the present and am open to agreeing with you in the future.

I'll provide capable, caring leadership drawing on my experience as a public servant, business owner, mediator and nonprofit volunteer. During these difficult times, my negotiating, and business expertise will give the city the high level, professional leadership it deserves.
