Ann Tanner, psychotherapist, counselor and licensed clinical social worker, has over 15 years of professional counseling experience in the fields of grief, trauma, disaster mental health, chemical dependency, and parent coaching. She has worked with individuals, couples, groups, and families seeking solution-oriented strategies and goal-directed treatment for their specific concerns.

Ann trained and certified with The Grief Recovery Institute, developed and implemented treatment services for Kaiser's Chemical Dependency Recovery Program, directed an in-patient Women and Family Support Program for drug addicted mothers and their children, created and conducted Cognitive-Behavior Therapy and Assertiveness seminars, and developed an 8-week parenting course for her local community. Currently, she is the Clinical Program Manager for Kaiser's Chemical Dependency Recovery Unit in San Diego's North County.

She has also provided emergency and preventive mental health services for the American Red Cross during major disasters including the La Conchita mudslides, Hurricane Katrina and the 2007 San Diego Wildfires. She serves on the Red Cross Critical Response Team for Mass Casualties, the Disaster Action Team (DAT) for local calamities and the American Red Cross Counseling Service.

Ann received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University as a Canfield Scholar and her graduate degree from Columbia University in New York City, graduating in the top 5% of her class. She is the mother of 5 children, taught skiing professionally, played on the championship Stanford University Women's Tennis Team, and is an avid surfer, pianist, and hiker. Her professional memberships include the National Association of Social Workers, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Stanford and Columbia University Alumni Associations.
