"Open for Business

Southwestern College is a fully-accredited institution of higher learning and has been since 1964. Our status does not affect our current students or potential new students. Our students can:

  • take classes for credit;
  • complete vocational programs;
  • transfer their credits to another college;
  • earn degrees and certificates, and;
  • get financial aid and other student services.

In fact, the College announced five new certificates in Automotive, Event Planning, Landscape Construction, Recording Arts and Web Design, as well as new job training programs for San Diego's energy efficiency and green building industries. As the fall 2010 semester opened, we announced new class sections, just as colleges across California are cutting classes. Classes for the fall 2010 semester began on August 17, 2010." ________________________________________ Excerpt taken from Southwestern College's Newsletter to College Community, October 2010 (http://www.swccd.edu "Open for Business")
