Born in Los Angeles, I have lived in California all of my life. I married my high school sweetheart Alicia 37 years ago. We have two adult children who are both educators, and Alicia works as a Special Education Teaching Assistant for the Vista Unified School District. We now have three granddaughters who keep us young.

While working full time, I earned my BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Redlands, and went on to graduate school to ultimately earn my MA in Management from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management.

We moved to Vista in 1988 from Thousand Oaks. I have worked for over 25 years in the aerospace industry in a variety of management and professional assignments. I currently work for Northrop Grumman as an Engineering Planning Analyst in Rancho Bernardo on the X-47B Development Program. For 10 years, I worked as a management consultant for three different firms.

In 1997, I started teaching business and vocational education courses as a Part-time Faculty member at Palomar College. In 2002, I was elected to serve Palomar College as a Governing Board Member and presently serve as Vice President and a member of the Finance Committee. I also serve as the Vice President of the California Association of Latino Community College Trustees.

At this stage of my life I am able to give back to my community. In addition to my public service as a Governing Board Member at Palomar College since 2002, I serve as a Board Member and Teasurer of Encuentros Leadership of North San Diego County (www.encuentrosleadership.org); a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for Latino males. I also am the founding Chair of the Drucker Society of North County San Diego (http://www.DruckerInstitute.com), a nonprofit committed to stimulate effective management and ethical leaderhip across all sectors of society.
