My opinions of the proposed Accretive Project's attempt to change the General Plan Update for North San Diego County
To: San Diego County Board of Supervisors Re: General Plan Update

Dear Supervisors;

When you review the General Plan Update (GPU) on Oct. 20, 2010 I hope you fully consider the desires and needs of your constituent property owners and residents in the rural unincorporated areas. We, in north county, are especially in the gun sights of the large developers who form financial and political alliances to destroy our beautiful rural countryside (eg. Mirriam Mountain, Accretive projects). Please give the work done by the local Sponsor and Planning Groups its deserved attention and consideration. These groups have the communities' lifestyle, and needs and health in mind, unlike the developers who are only concerned with lining their pockets. Specifically, please support the Staff-Planning Commission Map for Valley Center and reject the Referral and the Draft Land Use maps. The Planning Commission maps preserve the small town atmosphere in active villages where the pre existing infrastructure is in place and maintain the rural/agricultural portions of the community. The Referral and Land Use maps call for nearly twice the number of homes and population spread out over the entire rural and agricultural areas, obliterating our small town atmosphere. They attempt to justify this by citing a non-existing housing shortage in the near future. In fact, The GPU provides for 100,000 more people than SANDAG projects for 2030, probably enough to accommodate growth through 2050! Our painstakingly developed Community Plans developed over many years clearly and accurately reflect our future goals and plans for the development required to attain these goals. Please send a message to the developers with your decision that it is their responsibility to come up with projects that conform to these plans.

Respectfully, Tony Eason,MD San Marcos
