EXPERIENCE:

A San Diego native, Bob graduated from Hoover High School and SDSU. He earned his BA in Industrial Education and MA in Special Education. He has credentials in counseling and administrative supervision, and postgraduate units in computer science. Bob's 38 years of educational experience included Midway Adult, Bonita Vista High, Grossmont High, and 26 years at El Cajon Valley High school. He was a teacher, work experience specialist, counselor, administrative assistant, and computer science department chair. After retirement from Grossmont Union High School District in 1996 he served as a substitute teacher until 2005. Bob was appointed to the La Mesa-Spring Valley school district Prop M Bond Oversight committee where he continues to serve as a Board representative. He was elected to the Governing Board in 2004. Bob is a US Navy veteran honorably discharged as a hospital corpsman second class in 1965. He received multiple honors, and was instrumental in making significant changes to the U.S. Navy uniform requirements.

PERSONAL:

Bob has three grown children all educated in the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District. Eldest daughter Teresa, mother of four, resides with her husband in Burbank, CA. Son; Steve is Worship Pastor at New Hope Community Church in Bonita and resides with his wife and daughter in San Diego. Youngest daughter, Marnie, along with her husband and two children have a home in La Mesa. Bob and his wife, Judi reside in La Mesa where he has lived since 1976. His current recreational activities include biking, square dancing, and choreographed ballroom dancing.
