This information is provided by the candidate
A brief description of the common platform and special skills and experience of the Three Who Agree running for the three open positions as Director, Borrego Water District in the 2010 election.
VOTE FOR CHANGE - ELECT BRECHT, HART, & BRECHT Lyle Brecht, Beth Hart, Marshal Brecht for the Borrego Water District Board

We three who agree, pledge to work for you to:
- Work cooperatively with all water users to resolve the overdraft situation
- Bring questionable spending by the district under control
- Institute much needed transparency & accountability for board decisions
- Eliminate subsidized health insurance for board members

The three positions to be filled on the Borrego Water District board constitute a majority of the five member board. Lyle Brecht, Beth Hart, and Marshal Brecht (not related to Lyle) are running on a common reform platform as three who agree that the water district needs a board majority committed to working constructively together to SERVE this community. Each has been involved with District affairs as a concerned citizen. Each is now willing to take on the responsibilities of Board Member.

Our Qualifications: Lyle Brecht: My professional background is as a business development executive and management consultant for both large and small businesses. I am thoroughly familiar with the finances and economics of water districts. I was an elected commissioner for a rural water district in Tennessee similar in size to the Borrego Water District.

Beth Hart: I have regularly attended and participated in Borrego Water District meetings for the past five years. I believe good decisions are made when all relevant information is shared, deliberations are open and public, differing opinions are reconciled with respect, and money is spent with exceeding care.

Marshal Brecht: I have been a homeowner and ratepayer in Borrego since 2005. I am a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California and have been in practice for 34 years. I began attending Borrego Water District meetings about two years ago. I am fiscally conservative by nature and believe that the Water District should be run in a fiscally conservative manner. I will work with all interested members of the community to insure the wise use of District funds.
