Council Member; City of Campbell

Rich Waterman graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering. As an engineer, he worked for Cisco Systems, and he helped start several successful Silicon Valley startups, including DeskTalk Systems (purchased by HP), and Allot Communications (which went public).

He taught classes in Computer Information Systems part-time for several years at West Valley Community College in Saratoga.

Rich received a Master's of Science Degree in Accountancy from San Jose State University, and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is currently the owner of Waterman and Associates CPA, a local Campbell business where he specializes in small business and individual taxes, bookkeeping, and general accounting services.

Rich has been a homeowner in Campbell since 1995 and has been a very active participant in the community. He currently holds the following positions:

  • Vice Chairperson and Commissioner on the City of Campbell Parks and Recreation Commission
  • Board Member for the Campbell Chamber of Commerce
  • Appointed Member of the IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Forms and Publications Committee

Rich lives with his partner of sixteen years, Bruce; two dogs, Minnie and Petey; two parrots, Max and Boo; and a gecko, named Gex. When not involved in Campbell issues, he enjoys snowboarding, wine tasting, traveling, playing tennis and cooking.
