have lived in Gilroy since 1975 and I am employed by Gilroy Gardens as the Manager of Park Operations. I have one son attending college in the Central Valley and two other sons at Gilroy High. I am a 1977 graduate of Gilroy High School and later attended Gavilan and Cabrillo College, along with graduating from Santa Clara University Law School Paralegal program. Beginning in 1977, I served my State and Country as a member of the California Army National Guard and U.S. Army, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1986. I was a Paid-Call Firefighter from 1988 to 1992, during which time I was twice awarded Paid-Call Firefighter of the year by my peers, and the American Legion. I am a three time recipient of the City of Gilroy's Volunteer of the Month award for my work with such activities as helping with the creation of the Gilroy Citizen's Police Academy and the Volunteers In Policing (V.I.P.) programs. I am also a 2003 graduate of Leadership Gilroy.

In High School, along with my after school jobs, I did volunteer work at both the former Driftwood Convalescent Hospital and Wheeler Hospital. I have coached Little League, Pop Warner and two years assisting with the Gavilan College's Women Softball team.

I am proud that I had the opportunity to work at the first Garlic Festival (and several more after that), along with working locally with the March of Dimes, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Special Olympics and Memorial Day Parade.

I am a former Gilroy City Coucilmen and Planning Commission Member & Chairman

I have served on the Gilroy Visitor's Bureau Board, Gilroy Police Chief's Gang Task Board, Gilroy Historical Heritage Committee, South Santa Clara County Regional Wastewater Board as both a Member and as Chairman, South Santa Clara County Joint Planning Commission and the Gilroy Neighorhood Task Force.
