VALUES-BASED LEADERSHIP - COMMUNITY-BASED RESULTS

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As you know, the election for the Los Altos Hills City Council will take place on November 2, 2010. At this time there are three candidates running for two open seats.

For the past eight years I've served on the Town's Education committee working to maintain public education in the Hills. Additionally, in 2002 I served on the New Town Hall Committee and was instrumental in surveying residents about the kind of New Town Hall they wanted. You may recall that period in our town as painful and acrimonious; working together with newly elected council members we built the New Town Hall on time and on budget. I also served on the Donor Wall Committee that created and built the first public art in Los Altos Hills.

I believe that good leadership requires strong values, clear vision and a commitment to constituents. As your Town Council Representative, it will be my mission to champion our shared values. I will work vigorously to:

  • Preserve the rural charm of Los Altos Hills. This means supporting open space regulations and environmental initiatives, and working to keep our town beautiful.

  • Invest in local services and infrastructure. In addition to roads and pathways, I will support resident-formed assessment districts to underground utilities in accord with current LAH Town policy.

  • Build our sense of community. I will continue to support the strengthening of our tow identity through neighborhood programs, activities and public education.

You can depend on me to be fiscally prudent and transparent in these pursuits.

My approach to governance is simple: I support our Town's General Plan and Ordinances, and will strive to minimize Town intervention in administering its responsibilities. I will always be mindful of costs (both time and money) and will guard our shared resources as vigorously as I defend our shared values.

I would be honored to have your vote on Tuesday, November 2nd.
