I was born in Miami, Florida and grew up with two brothers and a sister and various pets. Our family loved the outdoors and we spent most of our free time at or on the ocean, camping and fishing. The one thing I learned when I was young was the joy of helping others. Our family participated in numerous community service projects. My father and brother worked for the city police and county fire departments--my dad was a 35-year veteran of the Metro Dade County Fire Department.

I graduated from the University of Miami in the 80's just as the personal computing revolution was taking off and jumped right in to help empower people to change the world! After graduating from college, I helped a friend start a computer store and taught classes on business software at the University of Miami.

My love for computers took me across the United States. I started with a medical software company in Ohio, then on to Texas, and finally California. I've lived in California for 20 years and have come to appreciate the Bay Area, particularly Silicon Valley, as the greatest place in the world to live.

Susan, my wife of 18 years, and I are currently bringing up three great kids ages 3, 7 and 9. We moved to Monte Sereno about 4 years ago because of the community and we have grown to love it more every day.

I am currently the Chief Technology Officer at an investment management company where I have worked for 10 years. Prior to that I worked at Apple, Symantec, Silicon Graphics and I co-founded a company that developed software for the Macintosh.

I have always lived my life with the philosophy of helping out wherever and whenever needed. We participated in relief efforts after the Loma Prieta earthquake with the Red Cross; I flew to Florida to assist Hurricane Andrew victims after that disaster; and last year we spearheaded a neighborhood bake sale that raised over $2,000 for Katrina relief efforts. We currently support missionary projects in Africa. I hope to bring that kind of compassionate spirit to the City Council when I am elected.
