What motivated me to run for the Fontana Unified School Board?

By SOPHIA GREEN

Candidate for Member, Governing Board; Fontana Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
In a nutshell, I would say that I am motivated to balance the budget, improve programs' effectiveness, and retain teachers and classified staff.
Having worked extensively in the school system, I became aware with the financial waste, poor management of resources, progressive decline in the quality of education available to students, and the inaccessibility of district administrators and leaders. Consequently, I became motivated to fight the selfish desires, greed and intolerance I see in district leaders; to challenge the prevalent favoritism and nepotism in the district system; to instill tolerance and diversify staffing at all levels. It is important to protect the interests of all students, teachers and staff; to minimize areas of wanton waste by introducing and infusing green energy technology and improving the information communication technology (ICT) that is being used today. In a nutshell, I would say that I am motivated to balance the budget, improve programs' effectiveness, and retain teachers and classified staff.
