I am running for school board because we need leadership that understands education and the needs of the students in this community.

As a school board member I will focus on making the district credible in the eyes of the community. Right now, too many parents, students, and staff feel neglected and abused by the systemic failures that have been allowed by past and present administrations and boards. This enormous disconnect must be addressed and reversed.

All must feel welcomed and appreciated. Everyone must realize that we are in the business of education and every decision, every dollar, every policy must be in the best interest of serving students! It is because of their civil right to receive a quality education that the school district exists!

As I have been out in the community working as an education advocate, I have enjoyed meeting students, parents and employees that have a strong desire to see change come to this district. I assure you that your concerns and needs have not gone unheard- and just as I promise to resolve individual problems as I encounter them, I will work to resolve the ongoing systemic problems once elected as your board member!

As a teacher, I was humbled everyday by the incredible responsibility I was blessed with. I believe that nothing is more important than giving all children the best education available. I firmly believe that education is the key to a successful future-whether it be to pursue a higher education, vocational skills, or immediate entrance into the workforce. Our students are our most precious resource and as we advance further into the 21st century, there is a need to provide students with the skills required to compete in a very competitive world.

I believe education is the great equalizer and that all students have the fundamental right to the best possible schools and a high quality education. We must provide students not only with the skills and knowledge to succeed in life but also the encouragement to pursue their dreams and goals!

We need also to understand that not every student is college bound, but every student must be career or college ready at graduation. I will work to make sure that all students have a graduation plan and and an after graduation plan.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, problems,or concerns that you have regarding your child's education.
