I am running for the Inland Empire Utilities Agencies (IEUA) Board of Directors in the general election on November 2, 2010. The Board seat I am seeking (Division 3) covers most of the Cities of Chino and Chino Hills (except a small part of the northern edge of both cities). John Anderson, who has held the seat for over 30 years, is retiring. Currently, I am the only announced candidate for the seat.

I have always wanted to serve the public good. As such, I have served on a number of charitable and community boards in the last decade. These include the Chino Valley School District Bond Oversight Committee, the Chino Hills Community Foundation Board (Vice Chair), the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the West End YMCA Board of Directors, the Let It Be Foundation and other services for the residents of the Chino Valley.

I have always been an active practicing lawyer as well. My main practice area is environmental law with an emphasis on protecting our groundwater and representing public agencies. I have a passion for this area of the law and protecting our precious resources.

IEUA is one of the member agencies of Metropolitan Water District (MWD) and covers most of Western San Bernardino County serving approximately 800,000 people. Unlike most MWD agencies, IEUA is not limited to wholesale distribution of water.

I would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the Agency and why I would like to serve the community as a Director. Any help you can provide is most appreciated.
