Dear Parents and Residents of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District,

In June of this year, I was appointed by the LEUSD Board of Trustees to fulfill the remaining time of a retiring board members term. I have decided to run for a full four year term on the ballot this November 2. In these difficult economic times, it is hard for me to justify spending money on a campaign when our schools so desperately need the funds. I would like ask you to help me run a `non-campaign' campaign! My goal is that this will be the only "hard copy" campaign literature you will receive from me. I will utilize electronic means of communicating information regarding my philosophy as well as encouraging residents to register and vote. I will run a frugal campaign and will donate the remaining campaign funds to the schools, so that our `non-campaign' campaign will benefit our students. I will encourage supporters to create their own signs if they like. I am grateful for organizations that choose to endorse me, but I will not seek endorsements from other organizations, or give endorsements to other candidates, as I feel that to seek or give endorsements always implies a favor needing to be returned.

There are well-qualified individuals running this November. The qualifications that I bring to being a trustee are as follows -

  • My wife, Mary, and I have a vested interest in our district as we are the parents of 6 children who have attended the Lake Elsinore Unified School, and six of our grandchildren currently attend LEUSD schools.
  • I taught History, Government, Psychology, coached, and held leadership positions at Elsinore High School for 33 years.
  • I currently work as a consultant for Riverside County Office of Education conducting teacher training and collaboration.
  • I am committed to improving our community by strengthening instruction in the classroom, supporting staff, in order to take students to the next level of success for them.

My campaign promises are simple, clear, and achievable -
  • I will make my decisions based on my educational experience and on principles of what I believe will best benefit our students in the classroom.
  • I will be honest and open, seeking to be an example of the word `trustee' to students, parents, teachers, administrators, staff, and the community.
  • I will seek to creatively bring more funds into our schools to benefit our students and staff.

If you are not currently registered to vote, I encourage you to pick up a registration form at a post office or library by the deadline of October 18. If you are interested in participating in our `non-campaign' campaign, please go to website at http://www.realedsolutions.org/ , or drop us a postcard at Stan Crippen, LEUSD School Board, PO Box 883, Wildomar, CA 92595. We would especially appreciate your support by copying this letter or running off more from our website and passing it out to your friends and neighbors. We are also happy to provide you with additional letters by contacting us at the above address or email us at trusteestan@me.com. Thank you for your support in achieving the goals for our students and district.

Respectfully, Stan Crippen, Appointed Trustee, Lake Elsinore Unified School District
