Longtime Orange County businessman Harry Sidhu was first elected to the Anaheim City Council in 2004, and was overwhelmingly re-elected to a second term in 2008. He was recently appointed Mayor Pro Tem. On the council, Harry quickly established a reputation as a tough-minded advocate for streamlined, efficient government and as a champion of small business.

As a small business owner himself, Harry knows what it means to meet a payroll, manage finances, and survive in tough times. That's why, over the past two years, he has worked tirelessly to help Anaheim weather the tough economic climate, including implementing an Anaheim/Orange County Job Fair & Expo so that local families could seek out employment.

As a current member of the City of Anaheim Audit Committee, Harry has fought to eliminate excessive and wasteful government spending and save taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars. And, he has focused on keeping fees low and managing costs as an Orange County Sanitation District Director.

Harry has also fought to strengthen private property rights, including his strong support for a charter amendment that would forever ban abuses of eminent domain to take private property.

Additionally, Harry has devoted much of his attention to the Orange County community, including serving as a Community Advisory Board Member for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Anaheim, Advisory Board Member for the Anaheim Family YMCA, Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and the Anaheim Small Business Chamber Member, Deputy Chairman of the Orange County Republican Party, local youth soccer club coach, and as a volunteer charity fundraiser for organizations such as American Cancer Society Anaheim Hills Relay for Life, and as a sponsor for a variety of children's sports, arts, and education needs. Harry immigrated to the United States from India with his parents in 1974. After completing his Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University, he became a United States citizen in 1979, and moved to California the following year. There, he began his professional life as a consulting engineer with Rockwell International and General Dynamics, and as a U.S. Defense Industry Engineer for Hughes Aircraft.

In 1994, Harry and his family settled in Anaheim where he and his wife are busy raising their two children.
