I am a small business owner, military officer and planning commissioner here in Orange.

As an officer in the United States Navy, I took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and, as a member of your City Council, I will do the same.

As a councilmember, I will never forget that I work for you - the taxpayer. My responsibility is to protect your interests and property. Government has forgotten that you, the taxpayer, are the customer.

I have a fundamental belief that local government exists to provide basic services such as public safety and utility infrastructure while fostering business and staying on a budget.

I don't believe that local government is a social services laboratory, a sanctuary for any group, or a blank check for abuse by Sacramento bureaucrats.

These are tough economic times, but Orange has been through them before. We survived and prospered because leaders, practicing fiscal discipline, guided us through those times - I will be one of those leaders.
