Shawn Dewane, was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2005. He is currently serving as President , was President in 2009 and First Vice President in 2008.

Director Dewane owns and operates the branch office of Raymond James Financial Services in Newport Beach, which provides financial advice and retirement plan consulting. Mr. Dewane holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management from Arizona State University, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and studied for the Charter Financial Analyst Level One designation from the University of Southern California.

As a former member of the Association of California Water Agencies, Mr. Dewane has attended numerous annual conferences, and is familiar with the issues faced by water agencies.

Director Dewane has received the Paul Harris Fellowship from Rotary International, serves as a Board Member for the Education Enhancement Society, honored as Adjunct Faculty at Pepperdine University, and is a Scholarship Recipient of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts. Additionally he is a member of the Newport Harbor Chamber of Commerce and the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum.

The Registered Representative published the article, "Profitable Knowledge" in the October 1998 issue, which profiled his professional work.

Director Dewane currently Chairs the Executive Committee and serves on the Public Information, Audit Ad Hoc, and 50th Anniversary Ad Hoc Committees. Additionally he serves as Mesa's liaison to the Independent Special Districts of Orange County, the City/Districts Liaison, the Orange County Business Council, and the Southern California Water Committee.

Director Dewane's objectives in serving on Mesa's Board include working to conduct sufficient oversight to ensure Mesa operates in a manner consistent with the policies and directives set by the Board. He is very committed to serving Mesa and the community.
