Closing the Achievement Gap

Test scores among certain student populations has long been ignored. It is time to make an effort to improve their achievement and success in school.
The steps needed to be taken to close the achievement gap will require tutoring one on one for struggling students. Also, study groups, directed by students and teachers before, during lunch, and after school, is another idea which can provide a sense of community at school. If students feel they are a part of the school they feel more compelled to do better. This effort has to be made at the school site where that sense of community makes all students feel being a part of the school. I am willing to even work and organize students in a study group styled setting to eliminate the achievement gap.
