My Vision for Greenfield

By Randy Hurley

Candidate for Councilmember; City of Greenfield

This information is provided by the candidate
You Alone Can Do It....but You Can't Do It Alone
In consideration of the city's $650,000 budget deficit, I feel it is time to research alternative renewable sources of power such as wind and solar. These resources would generate electricity to power our street lights and city owned buildings. Through utilizing renewable resources we can reduce electrical costs to the city budget. This would result in reduced cost expenditures rather that effect salary and staff positions.

Recent budget cuts have placed enough negative impact on the community; reflected in our Police Department, Parks Division and City Hall. It is my opinion that the community of Greenfield has enough taxes and surcharges already placed on them. Now is the time to be creative and think out of the box in order to prepare our future for a stronger tomorrow.

It is my desire to see the completion of three proposed projects currently being considered by the City Council; they include the Monterey County Courthouse, Walnut Street Shopping Center and Yanks Museum. Completion of these projects will provide an economic stimulus creating city revenue and job opportunity for our citizens. Therefore it is my promise to you that I will keep them at the forefront of the City Council.

I want to see the City of Greenfield and the Community of Greenfield united together. Join forces, link together and build a stronger tomorrow for our future generation. The task before us is never greater than the force behind us.
