YOUR MAYOR OUR COMMUNITY

I am a life long resident of the Monterey Peninsula. Pacific Grove has been my home for over 20 years. I appreciate the sense of community, the natural beauty that surrounds us, our history, and the involvement of our residents in local government.

Leadership is vital to the success of any business or community operation. My long relationship with Pacific Grove has allowed me to bring the knowledge of that past into the vision for the future. As we continue to plan for the future we need to be certain we retain the Pacific Grove we all know and love while adopting the challenges of tomorrow.

Much has been achieved since my appointment as your Mayor in September 2009. We are addressing important issues including responsible administration for our employee retirement system, water, shared services, continued revitalization of local business, revisions to the Municipal Code that support our environment and assuring our City's assets are administered effectively.

A certain level of character is necessary to serve as an elected official. One must possess leadership, objectivity and reliability. One must be ready and willing to reach out to the citizens and respect their ideas and opinions as to the management of their City. I have proven to you I have those characteristics and I am ready to continue working for you over the next two years.

As your Mayor, through my independent leadership, objectivity, and commitment, I will help preserve the quality of life we value in Pacific Grove.
