OPEN LETTER TO MARINA CITIZENS

By Bruce Carlos Delgado

Candidate for Mayor; City of Marina

This information is provided by the candidate
Dear Friends & Neighbors,

In just a few short years we have accomplished so much! Working together, we've awakened our community and joined forces to bring positive change. As you Mayor, I've worked to make the City Council chambers a fair and welcoming place to voice your ideas and concerns.

I've heard your voice and worked to make your City more accountable and more efficient for residents and businesses. We've made real progress toward producing a balanced budget and, for the first time ever, a multi-year, sustainable financial plant that we can all understand. I have lead the City Council in reining in expenses and identifying new revenue streams.

Our new Marina Teen Center is an excellent example of our transforming community, it provides our children an opportunity for healthy recreational activities in a safe environment. Our next project, the Cypress Knolls senior development, will bring jobs and opportunities to our city while providing needed services for our seniors.

Together we'll create a vibrant downtown, continue to enhance our relationship with Cal State Monterey Bay, and work to attract green businesses and jobs to our community.

Let's celebrate our City! I ask for your vote to continue to build a better Marina and strive to achieve these goals:

1) Fully fund public safety and recreation--without bankrupting the city

2) Focus on financial responsibility NOT increasing your taxes

3) Prioritize the needs of seniors, youth, veterans, and families with a focus on an expanded high school, senior programs, and affordable housing

I ask for your vote by absentee or at the polls November 2. Together we'll continue rebuilding financial security, revitalize our downtown, and build more trust in community leadership. My actions will continue to support smart, balnaced growth, fiscal responsibility, and open, responsive government.

You can help! Please call me with your thoughts, concerns and/or ideas at 831-277-7690. Thanks to everyone for your incredible support over the last two years! I love our community and will continue working hard to support your dreams for your family and the City of Marina!

Sincerely,

Bruce Carlos Delgado (831) 277-7690
