Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Pacific Grove

Pacific Grove is just a wonderful place to call home which I have been able to do for the past 18 years. I believe in selfless service as a way to preserve the lifestyle and ambience in Pacific Grove.

I prefer to build consensus as a means to move things forward. As a City Council Member, I like to use the term "we" rather than "I" for it is by using a team approach we arrive at well thought out actions. I also like to forge compromises whenever we get locked in to a problem that needs resolution. We also need to emphasize the concept of what is the "Common Good"; those things that will benefit the overwhelming majority of our residents.

I am open to all contacts by residents and I enjoy the one-on-one situations as a way to listen and learn. Yet, I will resist efforts to bully the City Council into actions that we cannot support or will only benefit the few at the expense of all.

As a confident City Council, we look to the challenges ahead knowing that we will find solutions rather than "kick the can down the road for others to address".
