Quotes about Keith Dyas by East Kern citizens

By Keith Dyas

Candidate for Director; Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency; Division 2

This information is provided by the candidate
I am supported in my re-election campaign by many of East Kern's citizens and leaders. Below are quotes about my effectiveness in protecting East Kern's water.
"Keith has served as my watchdog over East Kern's water for almost 10 years. If not for Keith's vigilance, Kern County groundwater might be pumped south to Los Angeles County today."

Don Maben, Kern County Supervisor, Second District

"Keith alerted me to a threat to California City's groundwater by a Los Angeles developer in the late 1990's. As a result, I initiated a new provision in the Kern County Zoning Ordinance that prohibits export of Kern's native groundwater. Thanks to Keith, East Kern's water is now better protected."

Steve Perez, Former Kern County Supervisor

"If not for Keith's efforts, the groundwater near California City might be flowing south to Los Angeles today".

Donna Thomas, President Eastern Kern County Resource Conservation District

"If not for Keith's leadership and hard work, AVEK would be disinfecting our drinking water with chloramines, and the residents of Rosamond and all of East Kern would be drinking inferior quality water."

Kathleen Spoor, President of the Rosamond Community Services District

"I have known and worked with Keith in several capacities for over 12 years. That includes while in the position of vice commander of the Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB as well as my post-retirement career supporting the environmental management office.

Keith and I have worked on many projects together ranging from water issues, flight test environmental assessments, and financial project plans. His dedicated focus is always on factual information, how those facts impact the issue at hand, and how well the money is being used.

After living off and on in the Antelope Valley from 1980 to 1999 while in the Air Force, and as a full time citizen since retirement, I'm fully aware of the criticality of water planning to the area. I have full trust and confidence Keith has made and will continue to make decisions based on solid facts supporting the best interests of the Valley.

Keith is a career civil engineer with a solid grounding in choosing what is best economically and environmentally. He will continue to address Antelope Valley water needs based on the long term needs of the whole community, not the self serving desires of individual politicians and developers".

Colonel Lawrence S. Hagenauer, USAF (Retired) Former Vice Commander Edwards Air Force Base
