Shall the office of City Treasurer be appointive?

Impartial Analysis
Under existing state law authority, the City Treasurer is an elected office. State law authorizes the City voters to change the City Treasurer from an office elected by the City voters to an office appointed by the City Council. Adoption of this measure by a majority of the City of San Joaquin voters would change the Office of City Treasurer from an elected office to an appointed office.

s/ Hilda Cantu Montoy City Attorney, City of San Joaquin
